Here's the skinny: I've been near 300 lbs. for years and need to lose weight. I'm married to a wonderful lady, and we have a family. One of our boys often asks if I'll run with him. I've always had to tell him, "No." In August of '09, my wife learned about a couch-to-5k running program, and I agreed to try it with her. This blog chronicles our progress on that training program. I hope I'll soon be able to surprise my son by telling him, "Yes, I'll go running with you!"

Day 70 - Mrs. F - Feeling sick

Im not feeling well today. I have a cold/cough but no fever. The bad part is that it feels as if its settling into my chest. Not good ... I will be beyond upset if I cant run the race on Saturday.

Im hoping that by pushing fluids and trying to get a little extra rest, that I can fight off the nasties.

Mr. F and I are still planning to work out this afternoon but it will be a slow easy run for me. Thats for sure.

Hopefully this doesnt take me out of the count.

On a side note, I ran my 2 minutes with my son. I ran painfully slow and played up how much it affected me. It was great fun! I told him I almost died!

Keep on running
Mrs. F

  1. You're funny! I wish I could have been there for the run.
I've got my new shoes and I'm planning on running tonight. It should be fun:-)
I hope you feel better soon.

  2. Hope you get to feeling better!

    Me in Oklahoma

  3. Thanks Sarah and Amy. I hope I feel better soon. We ended up not running tonite due to life ... too many things to accomplish. So we are either going to do a tues/thurs thing or just wednesday. I think we are doing pretty good if we made it to the 11th week before life sidetracked us!

  4. You're doing great. You may feel stronger tomorrow.

  5. An extra day of rest will probably do you good, so the side-tracking is probably a blessing! I can't believe you could fake with your son--I'm a terrible faker! That's pretty funny.

I made it through day 1 of week 9 today, so I'm following on your heels!
