Here's the skinny: I've been near 300 lbs. for years and need to lose weight. I'm married to a wonderful lady, and we have a family. One of our boys often asks if I'll run with him. I've always had to tell him, "No." In August of '09, my wife learned about a couch-to-5k running program, and I agreed to try it with her. This blog chronicles our progress on that training program. I hope I'll soon be able to surprise my son by telling him, "Yes, I'll go running with you!"

What will the doctor think?

It's been a bit more than three months since I've had a checkup, so I have my quarterly visit scheduled for today.  I think she'll be surprised, because my numbers should be good--both weight (decreasing) and sugar (down).  I'm down at least 20 lbs. since my last visit.

Of course, a doctor visit also means lab work, so I'm fasting today, since that's what's required before a cholesterol draw.

I'm also interested to see how accurate this work scale is compared to the one at the clinic.

Anyway, lots of water this morning.  If I don't post again before then, have a good weekend, all!
