Here's the skinny: I've been near 300 lbs. for years and need to lose weight. I'm married to a wonderful lady, and we have a family. One of our boys often asks if I'll run with him. I've always had to tell him, "No." In August of '09, my wife learned about a couch-to-5k running program, and I agreed to try it with her. This blog chronicles our progress on that training program. I hope I'll soon be able to surprise my son by telling him, "Yes, I'll go running with you!"

Early weigh-in

Well, first of all, I did not starve myself this past week.  I had a bit to eat on Tuesday night (the first night of the fast), because my blood sugar went low.  After that, I reduced one of my diabetes medications and got through the rest of the week through Saturday.  That day had a pretty normal amount of consumption, but then I went back to a very limited intake on Sunday.

The result? Down 9.8 lbs. this week.  I'm in the 250s for the first time since who knows when!  I'm at 255.2 lbs.--that's 30.4 lbs. lost since the start of the competition!

I weighed in early because I have the day off tomorrow.  I'll post the official results for the week sometime on Wednesday.
